A: Hello, I’m Angelina Neglia, sitting here with Scott MacDonald, author of Saving Investa, How an Ex Factory worked Helped Save an Iconic Australian Company. In the book, Scott includes 25 lessons learned from his 40-year career, which started out working in a factory and led to several CEO corporate positions.
The first lesson is: Don’t Expect Anyone to Give You Anything. Scott, what do you mean?
S: Angie, I’ve worked in a factory, washed dishes, even swept streets, but for the last 25 years, I’ve been CEO or President of major companies. One thing I’ve learned, if you want something, work for it. Don’t expect anyone to give you anything for nothing, and don’t expect to get anything just because you show up for work. The habits you develop at working for things and succeeding will help you in future endeavors and help drive future successes.
Check out all “25 Lessons Learned”.
